Please Read Carefully
The following policies apply to all participants, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, donors, spectators, guests, supporters, and any other individuals participating in or attending activities, programs, events, services, or functions hosted, organized, sponsored, or supported by Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. Honor Games.org and Heroic Five
By submitting an application, registering for an event, making a donation or purchase, volunteering, participating in any activity, or checking the acknowledgment boxes on any official form, you acknowledge that you have carefully read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the following policies and agreements.
Video Submission Policy
By submitting or uploading a video to Sports for Disabled Vets Corp., I confirm that I own the video or have the necessary permission and authority to submit it.
I confirm that I have obtained permission from all individuals who are clearly identifiable in the video, or from their parent or legal guardian when required.
I grant Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. permission to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, distribute, broadcast, archive, and share the submitted video, in whole or in part, for lawful organizational, educational, promotional, fundraising, event, website, social media, documentary, and public-awareness purposes without additional compensation.
Submitted videos must not contain unlawful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, dangerous, or otherwise inappropriate content. Videos must not knowingly infringe upon another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. reserves the right to accept, reject, remove, edit, decline to publish, or discontinue use of any submitted video at its discretion.
Individuals under eighteen (18) years of age must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to submit a video. The parent or legal guardian must provide the requested information and consent to the submission and use of the video on behalf of the minor.
By submitting a video and checking the required acknowledgment boxes, I certify that the information I provided is accurate, that I have the authority to submit the video, and that I have read and agree to this Video Submission Policy and the applicable Participant Policies & Agreements.
Code of Conduct
Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. is committed to providing a safe, respectful, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, professional, courteous, and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
The following conduct is prohibited:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
- Threats or acts of violence
- Fighting or aggressive behavior
- Abusive, offensive, obscene, or inappropriate language or conduct
- Theft, vandalism, or destruction of property
- Fraud, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
- Possession or use of illegal drugs
- Possession of prohibited weapons in violation of applicable law or venue policy
- Unsafe or reckless behavior
- Failure to follow instructions given by event officials, volunteers, or staff
- Any conduct that disrupts the safety, integrity, or mission of Sports for Disabled Vets Corp.
Failure to comply with these standards may result in denial of participation, suspension, removal from an event, revocation of privileges, or permanent exclusion from future activities.
Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
Participation in athletic, recreational, volunteer, fundraising, travel, educational, and community activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, physical exertion, weather conditions, equipment failure, transportation incidents, illness, permanent disability, emotional distress, property damage, and death.
I voluntarily choose to participate and knowingly accept and assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation.
I understand that participation is entirely voluntary.
I certify that I am physically and mentally capable of participating or have voluntarily chosen to participate despite any known medical conditions or limitations.
I voluntarily release, waive, discharge, and forever relinquish any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, damages, costs, expenses, and compensation against Sports for Disabled Vets Corp., Honor Games, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, sponsors, donors, contractors, venue owners, event organizers, affiliated organizations, partners, successors, and assigns to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law arising from or relating to my participation in any activity, event, or program.
Photography, Video & Media Release
I understand that photographs, video recordings, live streams, interviews, audio recordings, and other media may be captured during events and activities.
I grant Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. and Honor Games the perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free right to photograph, record, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, display, broadcast, transmit, archive, and otherwise use my name, likeness, image, voice, statements, and appearance for lawful educational, promotional, fundraising, documentary, historical, advertising, marketing, website, social media, print, television, and other organizational purposes without additional notice, approval, or compensation.
Non-Discrimination Policy
Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. is committed to maintaining an environment of dignity, fairness, and respect.
The organization does not discriminate in participation, volunteer opportunities, programs, services, or activities on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sex, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, military status, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.
Harassment, discrimination, retaliation, intimidation, or bullying will not be tolerated.
Property Loss Disclaimer
Participants, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, guests, and spectators are solely responsible for safeguarding their own personal property.
Sports for Disabled Vets Corp., Honor Games, volunteers, event organizers, sponsors, contractors, venues, and affiliated organizations are not responsible for the loss, theft, damage, destruction, or disappearance of personal property brought to or used during any activity or event.
Return, Refund & Payment Policy
Unless otherwise stated in writing by Sports for Disabled Vets Corp., all monetary transactions, including but not limited to donations, event registrations, sponsorships, vendor fees, memberships, merchandise purchases, and other payments, are considered final.
Eligible merchandise may be returned within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of delivery, provided the merchandise is unused, in its original condition, and returned with all original packaging when applicable.
Shipping charges, handling fees, processing fees, taxes, and return shipping costs are non-refundable.
Custom merchandise, personalized products, digital products, downloadable materials, event registrations, sponsorships, memberships, donations, vendor fees, and other designated items are non-refundable.
Refunds, credits, exchanges, or exceptions may be granted solely at the discretion of Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. when approved in writing by an authorized representative of the organization or when otherwise required by applicable law.
Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice.
Background Check Notice
Certain volunteer positions, leadership roles, coaching positions, staff positions, or other designated responsibilities may require a criminal background check.
Failure to successfully complete any required screening may result in denial, suspension, revocation, or removal from the applicable position.
Minors, Parents & Legal Guardians
Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to participate in any Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. or Honor Games activity unless otherwise permitted by law.
A parent or legal guardian is responsible for reviewing and accepting all applicable policies, waivers, releases, and agreements on behalf of the minor.
By allowing a minor to participate, the parent or legal guardian certifies that they have the legal authority to consent on the minor’s behalf and agrees to all policies and agreements contained herein.
Parents and legal guardians acknowledge that participation in sports, recreational activities, and community events involves inherent risks and voluntarily accept those risks on behalf of themselves and the minor participant to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Parents, Guardians & Supervision
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for the supervision, conduct, safety, and behavior of any minor attending or participating in Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. activities unless the organization has expressly accepted responsibility for supervision as part of a specific organized program.
Children shall not be left unattended unless expressly authorized by Sports for Disabled Vets Corp.
The organization reserves the right to require a parent or legal guardian to remain on-site during any activity or event involving a minor.
Failure to properly supervise a minor or repeated disruptive behavior may result in denial of participation, removal from the event, or revocation of future participation privileges.
Applicability of These Policies
These Policies & Agreements apply to all participants, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, donors, board members, staff, contractors, family members, guests, caregivers, spectators, media representatives, and all other individuals who enter, attend, participate in, or remain at any Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. or Honor Games event, activity, program, meeting, or property.
By voluntarily entering or remaining at any event or activity, individuals acknowledge that they are expected to comply with these Policies & Agreements, the Code of Conduct, all posted rules, venue policies, and the lawful instructions of event staff and volunteers. Individuals who refuse to comply may be denied entry, removed from the premises, or prohibited from future events.
Family Members, Guests & Spectators
Family members, guests, caregivers, and spectators attending any Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. or Honor Games event are expected to comply with all organizational policies, safety requirements, venue rules, and the Code of Conduct.
Sponsors, volunteers, participants, and guests are responsible for the conduct of any individuals they bring to an event.
The organization reserves the right to deny entry to, remove, or prohibit any guest, spectator, or family member whose conduct is determined to be unsafe, disruptive, threatening, or inconsistent with the mission and policies of Sports for Disabled Vets Corp
Denial, Suspension, Revocation & Removal
Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. reserves the right, in its sole discretion and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to deny, refuse, suspend, revoke, terminate, or remove any individual from participation in any program, event, activity, volunteer position, vendor opportunity, sponsorship, membership, service, or property for any lawful reason deemed appropriate by the organization.
This authority may be exercised to protect the safety, security, integrity, reputation, operations, participants, volunteers, staff, property, or mission of the organization.
This policy shall never be interpreted or applied in a manner that discriminates on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sex, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, military status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
Intellectual Property, Copyright & Trademarks
All names, logos, trademarks, service marks, graphics, photographs, videos, publications, documents, forms, written materials, artwork, website content, promotional materials, event materials, and other intellectual property created by or for Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. and Honor Games are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
No material may be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, published, transmitted, displayed, sold, licensed, or otherwise used without the prior written permission of Sports for Disabled Vets Corp., except as otherwise permitted by law.
Unauthorized use may result in legal action.
Truthfulness Attestation
I certify that all information I submit to Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. is true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
I understand that providing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information may result in denial of participation, suspension, removal from programs or events, revocation of privileges, cancellation of registrations, or other action deemed appropriate by the organization.
Entire Agreement
These policies apply to all current and future events, activities, programs, registrations, volunteer opportunities, vendor participation, sponsorships, purchases, donations, memberships, and services offered by Sports for Disabled Vets Corp. unless replaced by a subsequent written policy.
By submitting any application, registration, purchase, donation, volunteer form, vendor form, sponsorship form, membership form, or other official document, I acknowledge that I have carefully read these policies, fully understand them, and voluntarily agree to be bound by them.
